Management Education

Management Education Through Distance Learning Mode :

In 1976, AIMA took a historical decision to introduce India ’s first ever management programme through flexible learning, which was the need of the hour, to create talented management manpower to manage core sectors of developing India . Today, more than quarter of a century later, to cater to changing patterns of a dynamic industrial society like India through the facilities of computer and information technology, flexible learning mode has become the preferred mode of education.

To focus more on management education, Centre for Management Education (CME), the education wing of AIMA, was established in 1993 as a full-fledged autonomous business school. Today, AIMA-CME is the largest business school in the autonomous sector in the country in terms of student enrolments.

Today AIMA-CME offers various programmes to suit the requirements at different levels of management:

Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management (These programs are approved by AICTE), One-year Professional Diploma Programmes and Advanced Diploma Programmes.

The trend of earning while learning is becoming real now as is evident from the vast numbers of students being employed in various service-sectors and BPO companies.  Higher education through `distance learning mode’ is no longer considered as the last option.

Recognizing this trend, All India Management Association (AIMA) through its distance education division the Centre for Management Education’ (CME) has taken major steps to bring distance education at par with mainstream education by using mixed mode which combines the flexibility of distance learning with adequate degree of student-faculty interaction.  AIMA has also revamped its flagship AICTE approved programs to impart quality education through distance learning mode. The numbers of Personal Contact Programs (PCPs) have been increased from 6 per subject to 15 per subject.

For delivery of its programs, AIMA has a nationwide network of Nodal Centres, majority of which are reputed B Schools.

AIMA provides contemporarised and updated course material. Internet based virtual classes are provided to students on a regular basis.  A major initiative has been the introduction of the teaching through `Case Mode’.  Further to meet the career requirements of its students, AIMA has an active Placement Cell which caters to the placement needs of students belonging to Delhi and NCR region.  At other places, Nodal Centres provide placement support to the students.

Presently more than 5000 students are enrolled with AIMA in various Management Education Programs.
